From the schemes comes the following:

The department section has the reviewing section. As a bare minimum the scheme review (with timings) should run as follows:
  • Feedback from staff and students - ongoing throughout the year
  • Analysis of Moderation - Both External Moderation and Internal Moderation - ongoing
  • Analysis of Internal assessment at end of current year - usually in November/December but can be earlier
  • Alignment with school goals - November/December
  • Analysis of External assessment - January/February
  • Accountability to Headmaster and BOT - February/March

I asked all HOFs to complete the 'mother scheme'. From that base scheme the departmental schemes were constructed. It was at the departmental level that the reviewing component was the strongest.

SELF REVIEW TEMPLATE
This guide was given to HOFs and SMT towards the end of Term 2. The notion was presented to all staff at the Staff meeting in Term 2
It asked HOFs to identify a self-review process based around a focus. It asked for evidence to support the focus and it finally asked for some indication of the Review cycle, the decision or gains made and what next. The headings below work well both to review what you have done and to signal what you intend to do in the future.
It was really a summary of what you had done or were doing or intend to do.

So the headings were
